Celebrating a 70 Year History

A Legacy of Leadership in Metal Finishing

For over 70 years, Giering Metal Finishing has set the standard for precision, quality, and reliability in metal finishing. From our roots in hand-applied coatings during World War II to today’s advanced technologies like electrocoating and powder coating, we’ve been a trusted partner to industries across the United States. Our commitment to innovation and craftsmanship ensures your products achieve exceptional durability, corrosion protection, and aesthetic appeal.

Foundations in Craftsmanship

George Giering II began hand-painting dental chairs in his spare time while working at the Eli Whitney Gun Factory. As World War II unfolded, he applied his expertise to electrostatic finishing, creating durable coatings for the armed forces. This marked the company’s first steps into the world of metal finishing.

Incorporation and Early Success

Giering Metal Finishing was officially incorporated in 1954, earning a trusted reputation among manufacturers in the Northeastern United States. The company began offering specialized services like degreasing, pretreatments, plating, and anodizing, becoming a go-to partner for precision metal finishing.

Leadership and Innovation

Under the leadership of George Giering III, the company embraced major technological advancements. By the late 1970s, Giering introduced powder coating and electrocoating, setting new standards for durability and efficiency. This era solidified the company’s role as an industry innovator.

A New Generation

George Giering IV joined the business as the third generation of leadership. Focused on modernization and expansion, he invested in advanced machinery, workforce training, and sustainable practices. These initiatives ensured Giering’s competitive edge in a rapidly evolving industry.
